Material Properties

A clear, colorless liquid that evaporates easily with a mild, wine-like odor. It is miscible with water, chloroform, acetone, and ether. Produced through fermentation processes from sugarcane, corn, molasses, and other sources. Also synthetically produced from ethylene.
Serves as a precursor for ethyl acetate, pigments, and a variety of fine chemicals, including ethanolamine and diethyl ether.
